Black Cookey (Henry J Cook)

Another otherwise lost performer brought to our attention by his family

On a 'New Palace Theatre' playbill Henry J Cook is promoted as a 'Character Negro Comedian',
'Bone Soloist', 'Musician' and  a champion 'Stilt-walker and a Spade Dancer'

He is also known to have played the spoons and to have worn a variety of costumes including that  of a female.
