Captain Davies

Connected with the Stoll combine was Alderman Captain Davies, who died at the age of ninety-two. In the 'seventies, Captain Davies, then the leading member of the Islington Fire Brigade, became the proprietor of Deacon's Music Hall at Islington. His activities included the management for many years of the music hall in Chatham, in partnership with Oswald Stoll.                                                                                                                                                                                            From EARLY DOORS by Harold Scott
